Thursday Thoughts [Version 3.0]

[Linking up with Sar! You best too!]

Some randoms, because we’re stinkers we’re still suuuuup-aaaa busy and can’t seem to throw together that anniversary post. In due time, loves. Also randoms are fun and awesome. So join us!

I feel like there's so much pressure on young couples to have babies or not have babies. Who knows, maybe it's just because we're in that  phase of life, or maybe I'm just sensitive to this [along with eeeeeeverything else]?
Either way, I feel as if there’s tons of pressure (maybe even self-created at times) to either start the baby-makin’ process or DON’T-HAVE-KIDS-WAIT-UNTIL-YOU’RE-SIXTY-TWO-AND-YOU’VE-HAD-AT-LEAST-TWENTY-SIX-YEARS-TOGETHER-AS-A-MARRIED-COUPLE. No? Just us? To me, this is such an individual (err, uhm, couplevidual?) decision and process, and there are no rules, studies, or anything that can really tell every couple when the best time to have kids is, if ever! Every couple has a different story, a different purpose, and God gives us all different plans for our lives. Everyone is different. You can’t really assign a rule to that. In other news, your advice to me people-with-babies-who-don't-really-know-me-or-my-husband-that-well? Moot.

We get our keys tomorrow. I cannot believe it. This process and journey has been… arduous, if-you-will. But WE GET THE KEYS TO OUR HOUSE THAT WE OWN TOMORROW!

[Kind of]

My birthday is Saturday and it’s the most wonderful day of the whole year! For my birthday, I’m getting a zoo house. It’s going to be really hard to top that present in the years to come…
But seriously, I love my birthday.
A lot.

It’s funny to see my wonderful bloggy friends posting weather in their respective states. Mostly because I think we win

[Thank you]
Yeah, I know it’s probably not comparable, yeah yeah, acclimation, humidity blah blah blah.

But I still think we win.

That’s kind of all right now in our lives/heads/ hearts.
Pray for our busy move this weekend.
And that no one dies from heat stroke.
(I’ve had heat stroke twice. No joke)

Happy Weekend friends!

We’ll be painting and decorating and nesting all weekend and then some!

Someday, we might even show you pictures!

An Update of Sorts

Okay, we've been absent. Way absent. Whoops! Well, it happens, as you and I know.

I've had a collection of words floating in my head, waiting to be written; so much so that my eyes are basically brimming over with prose and witty nonsense. But we've just been so dang busy, I know, I know, we're all so dang busy.

It's the house (holy paperwork batman!) and work and church and all the other stuff that gets in the way and we're coming home every night at eight or nine with barely the energy to hold our sleepy black and blue lids long enough for a rerun of "Reno 911" and a snuggle. C'est la vie, non?

But amidst all of this, we are just so dang, freaking grateful. Cheesy and cliché as it is, we are feeling grace and blessing deep in our lives.

That house that we never-really-were-quite-sure would happen, is totally happening. We move in on my birthday in a little over a week. And for personal reasons, we can't quite disclose specifics, but we can say that in the final stages of the purchase/journey/remarkable-story-of-God, something incredible happened. The house- our house- nearly didn't happen. We I cried and we gave it up. We surrendered it completely to God and began to come to terms with the loss, and then, right as we began the whole legal-give-up-process-thing-y, God provided. Suddenly, exactly what we needed was right in front of our gaping mouths, and we got it together, just in time to pick our jaws up off the floor. It was nothing short of a miracle, and we know it was God, moving and providing as He always does. (That's not to say a 'no' is God not providing, of course that has a purpose in life too).

That church that God sort of just threw us into? Well, He's doing huge things there, and we're learning and growing alongside some truly inspirational people. I don't know that the two of us have ever felt more at home.

In the middle of it all, we just hope and pray that we don't take this moment for granted. These are the blessings we remember, the lessons we grow from, and the things we hold onto when we're lost and wandering. Our prayer is that complacency is so far away that we can't even recall the definition; that this joy fuels a fire that never, ever grows dim (because we know it will never go out) and that we carry this joy through all the trials that will eventually come.

So, this isn't our anniversary trip. I guess that would have been a much simpler post to put together after another busy day, but hey, I had to let those words find their way out.

I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have given me life.
    I am yours; save me,
for I have sought your precepts.
(Psalm 119:93-94 ESV)

In just a few days, this trip was supposed to happen to here:

Well, that's been postponed a bit... Because of this:

Yeap, we got it!

The hard house-hunting work is over!

Now onto an entirely different type of work...

Fun. Times!

The week of our anniversary, we had the awesome privilege of going to a Fun. concert! The lead is actually from Arizona, so it was extra awesome! Okay, honestly, we have no way of telling whether it was a better concert for us, but we're just going to go ahead and say so.

It was amazing.

Awww, shucks!

Evening all, we've just returned from our anniversary trip, loved and refreshed. It was absolutely one of our favorite trips, right up there with our honeymoon.

A post about this recent mini-vacay to Bisbee-ish is in the works! In the meantime, we're happy completely psyched to report that thanks to this lovely friend, Melissa at Forever and a Day, we're now proud owners parents to not one- but TWO blog awards! Thanks! Now forgive us as we blush and say, "awww shucks!"

Well, before we get lost in aimless gratitude towards our moms, junior high English teachers, and childhood goldfish...[ I sure did love Jaws] the awards!

This one comes with 7 random factoids about the geniuses nerds behind the pen... err keyboard.

So awesome, right?

  1. We both were born and raised in Arizona, right around where we live now, which is actually really rare for this state! OH except I've never been to the Grand Canyon, which is sad. And if our families weren't here, we probably wouldn't be either.
  2. I have a cousin who just got drafted to play for the Miami Mariners, which is crazy, because I remember him playing baseball as a kiddo-- now this!
  3. I don't really like Disneyland... It's usually crowded and busy, and I've never had a great experience. Sorry... I know. Maybe that'll change someday? And that doesn't mean we don't love Disney movies. My favorites were are "Pocahontas" and "Mulan"- I always loved the Tomboys... And hubband's was is "Aladdin"
  4. My favorite beer is Dos Equis or Blue Moon or Shock Top and Hubband loves him some Guiness.
  5. We have written a few songs together and done a few covers that maybe someday might make it to You Tube. Or maybe not.
  6.  Hubband hated running initially. The only reason he started was because he wasn't comfortable with me running alone at night. He's sort of... indifferent now.
  7. Hubband and I both really don't like the color pink. And I KNOW. I'm totally a poor excuse for a lady, but, I just do not like it!
There ya have it! Now, I nominate Brittany, Tamara, Kelsey Megan, Lauryn, Katie, Kris, Carla, and Faith!

Ladies, you rock and I'm glad I get to say so! Here are the rules! Now the...

Such a fun way to spread the love in the blogging world!

The rules are this one are:
1. Thank the person who nominated you in your post
2. Put the Liebster blog button in your post
3. Nominate your 5 favorite bloggers with less than 200 GFC followers
4. Let them know that you nominated them

So, without further ado, these five blogs are more than deserving of a fun award!

2. Megan @ Girl Meets Life
3. Monica @ Blessed Mama

Thanks for your support all!

Thanks again to Melissa, we've absolutely loved following along on her fun adventures! And she's a newlywed- just like us!
